Wooden FencingMost gardens round the UK feature wooden fencing; its helps us protect our home boundaries, adds privacy and security too. Wooden fencing is usually made out of wood which means it has to be maintained. If you’re garden fencing is looking a little worn and damaged it may be time to replace it. Having secured garden fencing around your home will dramatically change the way it looks and also help make your home safer.

In the UK weather conditions like rain, wind and snow can damage fencing causing a range of damage like warping, cracking and fencing can also be blown over. Making sure fencing is kept maintained will provide your home with a great finish giving the right impressions to guests.

Installing fencing may seem like hard work but there are many accessories on the market designed to make the job easier and quicker. Concrete posts and gravel boards are designed to make installing fencing simple and they also last a long time and can be used more than once.

The Fenn Lite Concrete Post system is a new way of installing wooden fencing panels, featuring special features designed to help you install you fencing quickly. When installing fencing traditionally panels are nailed to posts to secure them but Fenn Lite posts feature a special internal groove so panels can be slotted in securely without need for nails. Sliding in panels this way is much easier and provides the same support found in other forms of fencing posts.

Many people worry about concrete posts being too heavy to handle easily but Fenn Lite are made from a special formula making them 45% lighter than normal concrete posts and gravel boards. This makes both products easy to handle and move so you can save your effort for enjoying your garden more.

Fenn Lite Posts are much stronger compared to traditional wooden posts; because they are made from a special concrete formula they will not be affected by common problems like water damage, rot or warping. Concrete posts will often outlive fence panels so they can be reused over time.

Gravel boards are used when installing fencing to help protect the bottom of fence panels. Rain water will often splash when it hits the ground and fall onto the bottoms of fence panels. If you add gravel board to the bottom of your fencing it will be hit by the splash saving the bottom of your panels. Traditionally timber gravel boards are used; they absorb the water splash and rot instead of your fencing. They are then replaced when damaged saving your fence panel. Concrete gravel boards work in the same way except they will not rot, so you don’t have to replace them.

Fenn Lite gravel boards are made from the same material as Fenn Lite posts so are 45% lighter compared to normal concrete gravel boards. This makes them easier to install but also means they put less strain onto the fence panel. Fenn Lite Gravel boards are also much easier to install because they slot into Fenn Lite fence posts. Simply slot in your gravel board and then slot in your fence panel, no need for clips or nails.

If you want to add new wooden fencing to your garden think about using concrete posts and gravel boards. They are easy to install, inexpensive and over time will save you money.
